NHS Trusts in Cumbria
NHS Cumbria is the county's primary care trust. It receives annual budget from the Department of Health which is used by leading GPs representing each part of Cumbria to plan and pay for local NHS services.

North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust are the secondary care provider of acute hospital services in north Cumbria and their services are based at the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle and the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven.
