Children’s team receive garden donations
Published: 17th July 2015
Staff from the Springboard Child Development Centre in Carlisle have received over £100 worth of gardening items kindly donated by Dobbies Garden Centre.
The centre has recently undergone an internal refurbishment to make it more child friendly. Whilst it looks great inside staff thought the outside area needed some more attention so they decided to contact Dobbies Garden Centre to see if they could help.
Staff successfully applied to Dobbies’ “Here we grow” initiative and last week the gardening giant presented the centre with a selection of gardening objects including; herbs, plants, trowels, gardening gloves and a wind chime. This will mean the children who use the centre will be able to experience different smells, textures and colours in the garden area aiding to their therapy sessions.
It is fantastic to see how this team have been resourceful with getting a large range of gardening items to support the children who use the service. Later this summer there will be an official event showcasing the new refurbishments within the centre.
