OFSTED inspection of children’s services published

The OFSTED inspection of services for children in need of help and protection, children looked after and care leavers has been published today.   It can be seen here

Dr Sara Munro, Director of Quality and Nursing for Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust responded to the publication as follows:

I would like to thank everyone in our children’s and families care group that has been part of this inspection for their ongoing professionalism and their support throughout this process. We know that the report has highlighted difficulties that we are aware of and I would like to reassure you that these concerns are being taken seriously by the Trust and we are working hard to address them.

“We share the County Council’s disappointment in relation to the report’s findings about children’s services, in particular the services provided to children looked after.   The report does reflect all the progress that has been made by front line staff to keep children safe and we need to continue to build on this so that we can be confident the same standards apply for all Cumbrian children.  We are focusing our efforts on children looked after which is highlighted as a specific area of concern.  Myself and Chief Executive Claire Molloy are members of the safeguarding improvement board and the LSCB. We will continue to be active and responsible partners to ensure our organisation is making a positive difference to children and young people in Cumbria.”
