People of Furness show love for Trina Robson

Trina Robson, Project Lead for Love Barrow Families for Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust was awarded Ambassador of the year at the Love Barrow Awards 2016.

John Irving, Chair of the Love Barrow Awards Committee said this about the award:

“This special Award is given annually to a single person who has gone way beyond what is expected from them or their organisation. It is awarded to someone who promotes all that is good about Furness, its communities and its people. This can not only be done in Barrow but also beyond.

“The committee short list ten people they believe are deserving of this award. These nominees are then sent to twenty up standing people within the Furness area who award points on who they would like to be the Ambassador. The whole process is very secret and the identification of the Ambassador is only known by two people until the evening of the awards.

“Trina is so deserving of this award for all the hard work and dedication she has shown.  It is great this has been recognised by the people of Furness. “

Trina Robson, Project Lead for Love Barrow Families at Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust said:

“As a Barrovian it is a real honour to receive an award from my own community which acknowledges all the hard work and dedication that has led to the success of Love Barrow families”

Trina is a founder of, and leads, the ground-breaking Love Barrow families’ project which works with a number of families with complex needs across the Barrow Borough area.

The Love Barrow Families project attracts a great deal of attention locally, nationally and internationally. Last year Trina and one of her colleagues were fortunate enough to be invited to present at the International Association for the Study of Attachment Conference in Miami.  She has also presented her work at the renowned Kings Fund, London and the prestigious Tavistock Clinic, London.

Trina’s award was presented by Richard Rhodes, Cumbria Police and Crime Commissioner at the award ceremony which was held at the Forum 28 on Friday 11th March.
