Sarah Brown: former business administration apprentice
Published: 6th March 2019
Sarah Brown completed a Business Administration Apprenticeship in 2018 and now works in the team:
After completing two Level 3 courses whilst trying to find out what I wanted to do in my future I came across this apprenticeship with the Education and Learning team.
My apprenticeship had a lot of variety which I liked. Each day I took phone calls, answered queries and did other jobs including room bookings, contacting placements and booking staff onto training sessions. I also helped to co-ordinate the Festival of Learning.
For me an apprenticeship seemed like a good step after college as it eased me into the working environment. The Education and Learning team helped me to learn new skills and develop my confidence whilst also gaining a qualification. I enjoyed my time with the team, who were all supportive and made me feel welcome from the start. After completing my apprenticeship I was successful in gaining a fixed-term full-time job to continue working with this team for another year.
My apprenticeship helped me in so many ways, from developing my confidence and learning new skills to successfully gaining the job of Education and Learning Administrator.
