Success at Watchtree Wheelers

Learning to ride a bike is part and parcel of growing up but for some children it can be quite challenging.

Throughout the summer staff from Springboard Child Development have been working with Watchtree Wheelers to improve the cycling skills of a group of young riders. In the process all of the participants have gained skills, confidence and friends. One little boy learned to pedal and ride independently. He was with his dad and sister who were delighted with his progress and his sister told him, they will be able to have bike races at home now!!!

The 7 week programme is now complete and the children will shortly be returning to school lessons. On Thursday the children were awarded certificates from Governor Barbara Hepburn for their achievements. It is hoped the team at Springboard can access funding in the future to continue working with a new group of young riders.
