Cumbria floods 2015 - latest information and service disruptions

Please note: All routine appointments and clinics for community healthcare and mental healthcare are cancelled for Monday 7th December while we deal with issues that have occured due to the flooding.

Community hospital appointments are cancelled for Monday 7th December.

Urgent care will be prioritised.

Services and staff are working hard to deal with the severe disruption caused by flooding across the county this weekend.

We have managed to sustain staffing in all of our community hospitals and mental health inpatient units overnight and into tomorrow.

Community services staff are prioritising patients for visits according to need and have been able to reach patients requiring urgent attention with assistance from mountain rescue where required. Community mental health teams are contacting vulnerable adults to ensure they are safe.

Carlisle is particularly badly affected and police are advising public not to travel unless it is essential. We will be running essential services only tomorrow across Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, all routine services will be cancelled.

The dental centre at the Cumberland infirmary is down due to power failure. This has affected our sterilisation supply across the county therefore emergency dental care is affected across the county. Staff should continue to contact their managers or local team base if they are unable to come into work or if they are willing and able to do extra hours.

Please check traffic and travel websites for the latest information.

We know that many staff have been affected personally by the floods and would encourage those staff to contact their line manager to see if any support can be offered. Many staff have worked long hours with lots of offers of help, all support has been very much appreciated.

We will posts updates on our website and social media feeds, please check these regularly.
