Last chance to have your say on the future of healthcare in west, north and east Cumbria

The Healthcare for the Future public consultation about possible changes to certain health services in West, North and East Cumbria is drawing to a conclusion. It ends on Monday 19 December 2016.
The consultation covers possible changes to maternity services, children’s inpatient services, community hospital inpatient beds, emergency & acute care, stroke services and emergency surgery & trauma services.
If you have not yet had your say about these possible changes there is still time to do so.
You can go to the consultation website at www.wnecumbria.nhs.uk where you can read the full consultation document and complete the online consultation questionnaire.
Alternatively you can send us a letter, you can send us a written consultation response or you can complete the questionnaire at the end of the printed consultation document. Copies of the consultation document have been distributed to hospitals, GP surgeries, libraries, council buildings and elsewhere. Written consultation responses should be returned to… Freepost CUMBRIA NHS CONSULTATION. No stamp or other address details are needed.
During the consultation there have been 17 public meeting which together have attracted almost 2000 attendees and all of which have been audio recorded. The audio recordings will be analysed independently along with all the written responses we have received.
Altogether several thousand people have completed the consultation questionnaire, sent in a written response, attended one of our meetings or visited our mobile consultation vehicle. This vehicle – known locally as the “Chatty Van” – has travelled over 1000 miles in the last few weeks visiting over 30 locations around West, North and East Cumbria distributing consultation documents and engaging with local people.
If you have not yet told us what you think about the options explained in the Healthcare for the Future public consultation document, please do so. There are many factors that will determine the future shape of health services in West, North and East Cumbria and your views are one of them. That’s why the NHS wants to hear what you think.
Responses received towards the end of the consultation will be accepted as follows:
· Online consultation questionnaires will be accepted up to 23.59pm on 19th December 2016.
· Responses sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org will be accepted up to 23.59pm on 19th December 2016.
· Bearing in mind that written responses may be held up by Christmas postal delays hard copy questionnaires, letters and other submissions sent by Freepost will be accepted right through until 5pm on Friday 23rd December.
