Join us at our first joint Annual Meeting

People in Cumbria are invited to find out more about their local health services in the first joint Annual Meeting for Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) and North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust (NCUH).

Patients, service users, carers, members, staff and the public are all invited to celebrate 2017/18 achievements, reflect on challenges and hear about our vision for the future.

At the meeting, governors from Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will launch their new membership campaign called ‘Be involved’ to encourage local people to actively help shape the future of NHS services locally.

Attendees will also hear about the changes underway across the two Trusts to meet growing demand and the needs of an aging population. Health and care services are working more closely together to join up care and make better use of limited resources and investment in community care will see more people treated in their own homes and out of hospital wherever possible.

Our new ‘no place like home’ campaign will also launch at the meeting which will explain why being cared for at home can improve overall wellbeing and independence, if the right resources are in place.

The Annual Meeting is an opportunity for people in Cumbria to put their views and questions to the Governor’s Council and the Board of Directors for both Trusts.

The event will include:

  • A review of the Trust’s activities by the Boards of Directors
  • How the Governor’s Council has discharged its responsibilities throughout the year
  • An update on the transformational programmes of care in Cumbria
  • Your chance to ask questions of the Boards of Directors

The agenda can be found here.

As part of the new ‘be involved’ membership campaign, governors are keen to attract people to become members of cumbria partnership nhs foundation trust.  This is a really exciting time to become a Trust member particularly as we are now working much more closely with our colleagues at NCUH. This means in the future there will be even more opportunities that our members can get involved within to help shape more health services in the county.  Members will be provided with information about activities or existing co-production groups that are established to develop the future service provision in areas such as integrated care communities, cancer services, maternity, mental health, recruitment and stroke.

You can become a member now by completing our online form.

The event will be held at the Stoneybeck Inn, Penrith, on Tuesday 9 October 2018 between 09.30 – 11.40 (registration will open at 09.00).
