Local crafts women has donated £200 to Penrith Hospital

Samantha Podda of Penrith Crafts has raffled off her hand-crocheted reindeer hat and donated the money to Penrith Hospital.

Samantha said: “I made the hat as part of the craft shops festive display which proved to be a really popular piece. The hat received lots of interest from the public who wanted to buy it. After a discussion with Sandra Chicken who owns the shop we decided it would be a good idea to raffle the hat off for charity.”

Wendy Powell from Penrith drew the ticket and the lucky winner was Vicky Amos from Sedbergh.

Samantha added: “A total sum of £200 was raised from selling the raffle tickets and I have decided to donate the money to the Eden Unit within Penrith Hospital after my mother received care in the unit before passing away.”
