Service of thanksgiving for North Cumbria’s hospitals
Published: 22nd March 2017
North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust is hosting a service of thanksgiving to pay tribute to all the hard work of the staff and volunteers at the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle and West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven.
The event, Small Acts of Kindness, will feature readings from The Right Reverend James Newcome and testimony from patients who wish to share their stories of the fantastic care they received.
Organised by the Cumberland Infirmary’s Chaplain Annie Gray, the evening will showcase, not just the hard work and dedication of the Trust’s staff but also the volunteers who make a huge difference to people’s lives.
The event will take place in Carlisle Cathedral on Monday 27th March 2017. There will be tea and coffee served at 4pm and the service will begin at 5pm. The service is open to anyone who wishes to attend.
Rev Annie Gray, Chaplin at the Cumberland Infirmary, said:
“Our staff and volunteers do an amazing job. Their selfless acts don’t get the publicity they deserve. I am constantly impressed by the hard work and dedication they show.
“The families we deal with tell us how grateful they are and we wanted an event to make sure we can share this with the staff and public.”
