School Based Immunisation Programme Team

Our School Aged Immunisation Team delivers a consistent and equitable approach to ensure children and young people of Cumbria are protected, as far as is reasonably practical, from vaccine preventable diseases associated with significant mortality and morbidity.  We work in partnership with educational colleagues to maximise the uptake of the immunisation programme and the smooth running of the immunisation sessions and offer’s community clinics for young people who are educated at home.

Our Team of practitioners work with a defined population to deliver services that promote the health and well-being of children, young people and their families. Team members include Clinical Leads, Staff Nurses, Business Support staff and apprentices.

Immunisation Programme includes:

  • Reception, Year 1, 2, 3 & 4 - Nasal Flu Spray
  • Year 8 and 9 Girls - Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
  • Year 9 Booster - Diphtheria Tetanus and Polio (DTP) Meningococcal ACWY (Men ACWY)
