Public Health and Wellbeing Nurses

The new Public Health and Wellbeing Nurse role began on 1st April 2017 and replaces the previous school nurse service commissioned by Cumbria County Council.

Each school in Cumbria will be assigned a Public Health and Wellbeing Nurse who will be your allocated key contact person.

As Public Health and Wellbeing Nurse we will work with your school to identify and implement action plans with a particular focus on Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health including self-harm and healthy weight.

We will also act as a local point of reference for matters relating to Children and Young People and health and wellbeing in schools and other external support agencies.

We will support developing clear pathways through the internal pastoral systems and into external support.

For primary schools we will ensure links are made with cluster primary schools especially around the transition period to secondary schools.
