There are nine community hospitals across Cumbria, providing a range of services which include inpatient facilities, day hospitals, minor injuries units, falls and balance groups and outpatient departments. No two hospitals are the same because of the history, geography and needs of the local population.
We also have Step up Step down units which provide inpatient care and a Primary Care Assessment Service (PCAS) for patients to be observed for a longer period of time before a diagnosis or referral is made.
We aim to help patients safely return to their own home as soon as they are well enough to do so. Find out more about getting home from hospital.
