Contraception & Pregnancy

Cumbria Sexual Health clinics offer advice and free contraception. Your G.P. can also provide contraception and further pregnancy related care.

Contraception

Using contraception is the best way to reduce the risk of pregnancy. Using condoms, a form of contraception will also protect you against sexually transmitted infections (STIs). There are currently 15 different contraceptive methods to choose from, which means there is something out there to suit everyone, both male and female. Don’t be put off if the first type you try isn’t right for you.

You can get advice and free contraception from your G.P. or sexual health clinic. Sexual health charity FPA have developed an interactive tool that can help you find out which methods of contraception may be best for you. Available here: FPA – My Contraception Tool

Free condoms are available from our clinics.
