Meet our Governors

Jacqueline Nicol

Public Governor

Term Expires: 2020

I will listen to the membership and support/challenge the Board to benefit all service users and stakeholders.

For many years I have taken an interest in NHS issues and believe in the vital importance of its service. I was a Public Governor for Cumbria for North West Ambulance Service for 4 years until the Shadow Council was disbanded this year. I was an active member of the shadow council and gained experience and skills relevant to being a member of a Governor Council. I believe that those skills can now be transferred to the Cumbria Partnership and enable me to continue my involvement in the NHS.

I am interested in all aspects of the Trust but in particular community health and the specialist services. Following attendance at meetings of Success Regime, I am interested in following the subsequent progress. Within specialist services I am interested in work relating to learning disabilities and autism, acquired brain injury rehabilitation and palliative care.

I have wide experience serving on various committees with a number of charities I was vice chair of the Governance sub-committee of the Shadow Council. I am up to date with the issues surrounding the provision of health services in Cumbria. I attended meetings during the consultation with the Success Regime, which gave a valuable insight into the challenges facing the NHS.

I am a Community First Responder for NWAS and Heartstart instructor, which requires me to work as a team member. I am a service user.
