I understand the importance of the health and wellbeing of others and can raise any concerns for patients and staff. I’ve been an active governor for the past three years, and this has given me the knowledge and understanding of services within the Trust. I have a particular interest in the wellbeing of patients on hospital wards, their carers and families, health and safety, cleanliness and the overall appearance of the wards. Talking to staff and listening to their views is also a priority.
I have a particular interest in mental health services for adults and children and I serve on the Mental Health and Specialist Services Special Interest Groups, looking at a variety of services including diabetes, dental, sexual health, palliative care, neurology, learning disabilities and physical health psychology. I have a wide range of understanding in dementia awareness, stress management and infection control and prevention.
I have been a carer for a family member for many years and understand the importance of excellence care for patients and their families. I have taken part in inpatient assessment visits which looks at the care environment. I am also a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapies, I understand the importance of health needs of others.
