Meet our Governors
Term Expires: 2020
I believe that it is important that we, as staff, have the means of being heard. The role of Staff Governor should be just that, a person who is able to listen and take forward concerns, and positive staff feedback, to represent the workforce at a senior level. With future changes happening across the county for our services around creating a Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP), I believe my 10 years’ experience in an Acute Foundation Trust, and over 5 years working in Cumbria Partnership, would enable me to make a valuable contribution as a Staff Governor.
What our organisation will look like in the future particularly interests me and how this will affect our patients, services and staff. I am interested in how the Trust work can work collaboratively and efficiently, while also achieving high standards during times of financial constraint, and how we can consistently act in line with our values of kindness, fairness, spirit and ambition.
I have 3 years previous experience of being a Staff Governor in Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals Foundation Trust, one of the first ten Foundation Trusts created back in 2004. As a Staff Governor, I regularly took part in ‘listening surgeries’ to hear the voices of our staff and feed concerns back to the Board. I also have a Masters in Integrated Governance and established connections across the Cumbria Partnership.
